Texas’ Favorite Team: The Texas Longhorns
The Texas Longhorns has long been a huge favorite in the minds of college football fans, and this team is no different. This year’s team has an exciting style of play and is deep with experience and talent.
The most impressive feature about this team is the fact that it has come back from the dead after last year’s controversy of being tainted by tainted players. However, with the team back together this year, the Longhorns are well on their way to being a solid regular season program.
The Team’s Talented Players
As we all know, the college teams from the Big 12 are known for having a super strong offensive line. And this year’s team has the best offensive line in the conference. This line features Dallas Jefferson, Cedric Ogbuehi, and Joe Bergeron, three powerful offensive linemen who bring a lot of experience when it comes to being strong at the point of attack.
The second most experienced player in the line is none other than defensive end Christian Kirk. Kirk is a true freshman and has had a large role in the defensive line rotation, allowing seniors Gerald Wilbon and Joe Jackson to make more plays.
The most impressive secondary in the league is a unit consisting of second year players Dylan Haines and Darrell Williams. Both of these players are experienced and will be strong safeties for the team. The two linebackers are true freshmen as well.
Other than the skill positions, this team is stacked with great young running backs, led by freshman and redshirt freshman Malcolm Brown. Brown, who was originally a defensive back, is currently listed as the starting running back.
In addition to the running game, the defense is a huge factor in determining whether or not the team wins.
Texas has been solid all year, holding teams under 20 points and their most impressive statistics have come in the form of a top ten ranking against the run and top ten rankings against the pass.
Sophomore end Kameron Bryant is a strong safety who brings a strong presence on the outside. Sophomore defensive tackle Malcolm Roach is a great player with great size.
- The linebacking corps is anchored by Xavier Printzler, who is one of the most dynamic athletes in the conference.
- He has the speed to cover, the quickness to blitz, and the explosion to tackle.
- Junior Cameron Goode is the strong safety who is a playmaker. He also leads the team in tackles.
Strong-side linebacker Chris Whaley is also in the starting lineup. He is responsible for getting to the quarterback and is usually one of the most exciting players on the field.
There are several outstanding players on this team. These players all have high expectations in their eyes for success in the upcoming season and for the team’s future success.
